Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a big brown bear named Growly, who lived with a little bunny named Hoppy deep in the forest. One evening, Growly woke up to a rustling sound under his bed.
He gathered his courage, checked what it was, and saw two red eyes flashing in the darkness.
He was very scared.
In his fear, he ran over to Hoppy. The bunny was sleeping peacefully. But he quickly woke up upon seeing Growly. Growly told Hoppy what had happened.
Hoppy reassured Growly:
They went into Growly's room and listened. Suddenly, there was a soft moaning and scratching from under Growly's bed. Growly got very scared and shouted.
However, Hoppy kept his cool. He stood quietly and thought. Then he decided to get to the bottom of it. Just as his mother had taught him, he didn't let his imagination decide what was under the bed. He wanted to find out what this unknown sound was and who was making it. So, gathering all his courage, he knelt down, looked under the bed, and shouted.
To his surprise, a thin little voice answered:
Growly and Hoppy were greatly relieved. They realized that the little bat heard Growly's snoring. That's what scared it so much. Hoppy, with his usual wisdom, started to speak.
Flutter shyly came out from under the bed. He got acquainted with Growly, and Hoppy. After a few minutes, they all burst into a huge laughter. They could hardly believe that Flutter was scared of Growly, and Growly of Flutter.
The little bat needed some help to find his way home. Since they were all exhausted from the big scare, they decided not to embark on the journey that night. They went to sleep, planning to search for Flutter's cave with renewed energy the next day. But that's another story.
